Criminal Justice

PROGRAM ATTRIBUTES

The Associate of Science in Criminal Justice is designed for both the high school graduate who wishes to prepare for a career in the criminal justice system and the practitioner who wants to upgrade his or her criminal justice knowledge and professional credentials. The two-year curriculum is based on the best practices in criminal justice education and provides the knowledge content deemed important to criminal justice programs. The curriculum includes twenty-seven hours of general education courses and thirty-three hours in criminal justice and elective courses. Class sizes are normally small, averaging approximately twenty students per class. The online degree in criminal justice is in an accelerated format. Classes meet for eight weeks instead of the traditional sixteen week semester. Additionally, students can earn credit for military service or credit by advanced placement testing.
