ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Financial Services concentration will provide students with knowledge in accounting, finance, and risk management and insurance. Graduates will possess unique skill sets for a wide variety of positions in the financial services industry. This concentration consists of 30 credit hours of business and elective courses and 30 hours of courses in organizational leadership. All courses are available online, many in an accelerated eight-week format. Students may earn credit for life experiences through ULM's program of prior learning assessment. Courses generally contain no more than 25 students so individualized attention occurs frequently.
Nationally, 780,400 additional jobs in the financial activities sector and 3.8 million jobs in the professional and business services sector are forecast to be added during the decade ending in 2020. Occupational projections for Louisiana through 2018 indicate a need for more than 4,600 employees per year in business fields, but the supply of general business graduates in the state falls short of this number by approximately 1,000 individuals each year.
